Challenge
Our marketing company was tasked with developing a novel telehealth clinic model to expand access to medical cannabis treatments. This presented several challenges. First, there is limited medical education surrounding cannabis therapeutics, so providers may lack knowledge on appropriate prescribing. Second, high-quality clinical research on cannabis is still scarce, making evidence-based protocols difficult to establish. Finally, cannabis regulations are rapidly evolving across different states, creating confusion on legal requirements for telehealth services. Our team needed to design a telehealth platform that could educate providers on cannabis therapies, develop best practice guidelines despite limited research, and remain adaptable as regulations change. Bridging the gaps between patient demand, provider knowledge, research limitations, and legal uncertainty required an innovative telehealth solution.
Solution
To launch the innovative telehealth clinic, we developed an online provider training program on cannabis therapies, established evidence-based protocols, and built-in regulatory agility to continually update policies. Leveraging remote monitoring, the telehealth platform increased access and care quality. A targeted digital marketing strategy promoted the clinic across social media and search channels, exceeding patient acquisition goals. This integrated strategy combining virtual care, provider education, expert guidance, regulatory adaptability, and strategic marketing successfully bridged gaps in this emerging field, expanding access to medical cannabis.
